Playroom Experience
The Playroom & Its Materials
![]() |
The “Playroom” for Play Therapy is different than other playrooms in daycare, school or home setting. Our playroom contains several sand trays and a collection of carefully selected toys, materials and figurines. The fluidity of sand and its texture can facilitate a child’s learning of self-soothing, mastering skills of one’s environment and developing creativity in problem solving. The various figurines and materials are used to facilitate expression of the child’s perspectives instead of limiting a child’s imagination. Therefore, toys and materials are relatively neutral in their nature in the playroom and are very different than the typical toys children play with on a regular basis. |
