Rowena graduated from SFU with a BA in Psychology. She is currently completing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her approach with individuals or families is influenced by person-centered and attachment theory. She believes in the importance of providing a safe, comfortable, and non –judgmental environment for clients and in building a good therapeutic relationship with her clients. Her aim is to understand each client, and to empower them to find their own way through their life struggles and challenges. Rowena holds a strong passion in working with children, adolescents, couples and families. She had two years experience working with adolescents. By organizing group programs and being attentive to individual needs, she helped them explore life’s opportunities. Believing in the significance of family in children’s development, she works closely with the parents of these adolescents. Her goal is to help parents adjust and understand more about their growing child thus bringing the family closer together. She also had over four years of experience serving at the crisis line. It is her strong assets in listening and being attentive to the emotional needs of the people who are struggling through life difficulties. Rowena offers reduced rate counselling at affordable costs for those who require services for lower fees due to financial difficulties.
