At times, certain counsellors may change the duration of a session according to their best judgement. Irregular session lengths are typically billed proportional to the fees listed above. Talk to your therapist to discuss the exact length and session fee that you should prepare in advance.
Associates
Our associates offer a more affordable option to remain competitive as they settle into a private practice setting and build up their caseload.
You will find our associates to be compassionate, personable, and skilled at assisting you towards your desired counselling goals. They uphold a high standard of professional ethics and provide a level of care that you will ease comfortably into as you sit down for your first session.

Interns *
We occasionally have student interns engage in practical training at our office. All of our interns are completing their masters degree in counselling, marriage & family therapy, or a counselling-related field and are carefully selected to join our team. They are able to offer counselling services at a very affordable rate.
If you are considering counselling support and are concerned about affordability, consider booking an appointment with one of our interns. In addition to a lower cost, you also receive the added benefit of a seasoned supervisor working with the intern to help you through your current situation.
* We currently do not have an intern on our team
Payment Method
Payment is collected either before or after each counselling session by Interac e-Transfer, cash or cheque. Cheques should be made payable to “Wishing Wells Counselling Service Inc.” At this time, we are unable to accept credit or debit cards. We apologize for any inconveniences.
MSP Coverage
You may have been referred to us by your doctor and you may be wondering whether this qualifies you for MSP coverage. Unfortunately, counsellors are not governed under the Health Professions Act and do not receive Health Care funding for our services.
Financial Assistance
Some EAP (Employee Assistance Program) or Extended Health Care may provide coverage for your counselling session fees. Please check with your service provider or employer regarding specific coverage for Registered Clinical Counsellors.
You may also be reimbursed by the Vancouver Crime Victims Assistance Program if you are eligible for benefits by the Program.
If you are a member of a religious group or faith community, you may be eligible for financial assistance through a subsidy or sponsorship program. Check with the administration at your church or faith group to inquire about the availability of these programs.
We are aware that individuals and families can be challenged by the many necessary expenses of everyday life. For those families who are committed to counselling work and may struggle financially, session fees can be reduced. Please do not hesitate to discuss other options with us regarding reduced rate counselling with an Associate Therapist or an Intern Therapist should you require financial assistance.
ICBC and WCB
Our therapists are trained and qualified to support individuals suffering from injuries sustained at work or in a motor vehicle. We work hard to coordinate with your insurance adjuster to seamlessly bridge your claim for your session fees. Individuals in these circumstances are often covered for a certain number of sessions with the possibility of renewal.
Cancellation Fees
48 hours of advance notice is required should you need to reschedule or cancel your counselling appointment. An amount equivalent to your regular session fee will be applied to your account without 48 hours of notice or if you fail to show up for an appointment. Please notify your therapist of your cancellation by telephone or voice messaging system.
