Counselling for ICBC Cases

Being involved in a motor vehicle accident can be a frightening and overwhelming experience. Even after physical injuries begin to heal, you may continue to experience anxiety, fear, stress, or emotional distress that affects your daily life. You may find yourself avoiding driving, feeling nervous as a passenger, struggling to sleep, or replaying the accident in your mind.

These reactions are common after a traumatic event, and you don't have to face them alone. Our experienced counsellors provide a safe, supportive environment where you can process your experience, develop healthy coping strategies, and work toward feeling confident and in control again.

Common Challenges After a Motor Vehicle Accident

Everyone responds differently to an accident. Some people recover emotionally within a few weeks, while others continue to experience symptoms that interfere with work, relationships, and everyday activities.

Counselling may help if you're experiencing:

  • Anxiety while driving or riding in a vehicle

  • Fear of getting back on the road

  • Flashbacks or intrusive memories of the accident

  • Sleep difficulties or nightmares

  • Stress, irritability, or feeling constantly on edge

  • Depression or loss of enjoyment in daily life

  • Emotional adjustment to physical injuries or chronic pain

Our counsellors will work alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable, helping you process your experience while building practical tools to support your recovery.

Coordinated Care Throughout Your Recovery

Recovery after a motor vehicle accident often involves several healthcare professionals. With your written consent, we can communicate with your family physician, psychologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, or other members of your care team to help ensure your treatment is coordinated and focused on your overall well-being.

If you have retained legal representation as part of your ICBC claim, our counsellors also have experience communicating with lawyers when appropriate.

Your privacy is always respected, and all communication with other professionals occurs only with your written permission.

ICBC Counselling Coverage

Accessing counselling after an accident should be as simple and stress-free as possible.

Wishing Wells Counselling is a member of the Recovery Network, allowing us to direct bill ICBC for eligible counselling sessions. When you contact us, simply let us know that your appointment is related to an ICBC claim and have your claim number available if possible. If you know the name of your ICBC adjuster, that information is also helpful.

Our team will work directly with ICBC to confirm your counselling coverage, allowing you to focus on your recovery instead of the administrative process.

Please note: Our counsellors communicate directly with ICBC regarding counselling fee coverage only. We do not provide advocacy or representation regarding claim settlements or legal matters beyond the scope of counselling services.
