Carmen believes in each individual’s innate capacity for healing and growth and is attuned to the complexities of multicultural identities and family dynamics. With a deep passion for play therapy, she has practiced play therapy since 2008 and has witnessed the transformative power of creativity, connection, and joy through play.
With over 15 years of experience across community mental health, hospital, and private practice settings, Carmen works with children, youth, adults, and families. Her areas of clinical focus include mental health, neurodiversity, post-adoption support, parenting and co-parenting, and life transitions and adjustment.
Carmen’s therapeutic style is warm, empathic, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. She believes that each person deserves to feel heard, understood, and respected. She creates a safe and supportive therapeutic space where clients can explore their emotions, challenges, strengths, and vulnerabilities at their own pace. She believes that a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective therapy and meaningful change. Carmen is committed to walking alongside her clients as they navigate life’s challenges, discover their inner resources, and move toward healing, growth, and greater well-being.
